“I get almost weekly reports about wheelchairs being stolen.”

You read the All-New Ghost Rider series? The main character has a disabled brother whose relationship with him is never shown as anything but being the one thing in Robbie’s life that truly makes it all worthwhile, with these awful people stealing his electric wheelchair being the inciting incident of Robbie making a rash decision that leads to him becoming Ghost Rider out of desperation.

Also there are some wonderful scenes of him interacting with his brother and even the duplicitous hellspawn bonded to Robbie likes his brother.

also yeah rocket’s actions definitely came off as weird to me given how he’s basically a mass of cybernetic parts grafted onto a torturedly destroyed body and I don’t see him being able to LIVE, let alone walk with just one of them removed.

From what I’ve been gathering, the movies are still lagging behind the comic books in a lot of ways. I think part of the issue is that comics have a lower budget, so they don’t need to appeal to the greater society of non-nerds in order to justify the cost the way movies do, and we all know that producers and executives have some very definite ideas about what the greater society wants to see. Hopefully things’ll keep shifting in the right direction, and society’ll prove the executives wrong.

Because of a Tumblr post, I found out that the new Hawkeye vs Deadpool from September (issue 0 I think?) shows Hawkeye reading lips, using a hearing aid, and understanding ASL (that Deadpool is using along with having his mask pulled up so Hawkeye can read his lips). It’s pretty impressive….although I think I’ve lowered my expectations from comics lately.
