    “Television doesn’t have trigger warnings”

Would you consider the rating system a kind of trigger warning? That particular episode had just about all of the “warning” ratings.

Also, I seem to remember in the past, news broadcasts warning viewers if something shocking or unnerving was about to be shown. Could that be considered another early type of trigger warning?

Mind you, I’m all for TWs. I think they are rather valuable, especially for giving advance notice of tone or content – which is why TV ratings seemed a reasonable comparison. They are often more specific than movie ratings as to why the rating exists.
